The Ward Environment
The ward was completely refurbished in 2023. It features spacious living accommodation including access to two enclosed gardens.
It is situated within the grounds of, and linked to, a large general hospital. All patients have single room accommodation with separate areas for male and female patients.
The site is easily accessed by car and is on a regular bus route.
Who do we treat?
We offer inpatient treatment for both men and women with anorexia nervosa who are aged 18 and over from within the Midlands and East region. We are particularly experienced in helping people with severe anorexia nervosa, including those with a very low body mass index (BMI). We are also able to offer treatment for people with anorexia nervosa who have associated mental health conditions such as depression and obsessive compulsive disorder.
Testimonials
For me Langley (now Welford) was a place of safety where people understood what I was going through and didn't judge me. The staff were always there to listen, guide and support me through a very difficult time in my life and they genuinely cared.
They showed me who I was and that I'm an ok person who deserves to be happy and that living without this illness was not only possible but worth fighting for. They taught me how to get a precious 5 minute break from the chaos of my mind but most of all they gave me back my life (literally) and for the first time in forever they gave me hope."
